Education ministry to train 8,600 P1 teachers

The Ministry of education has announced a recruitment drive for trainee P1 teachers set for July this year and has asked all those wishing to apply for the training to do so by May 21 and register in their respective zones.

The ministry has said it wants 8,600 trainees from the applicants who will be enrolled into public teacher training colleges in the country. The two year course which successful applicants will undergo is intended to prepare prospective teachers to provide suitable learning opportunities and develop learners’ communicative skills.

Requirements for registration is a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade “C” plain with a minimum grade of D(plain) in mathematics and a C-(minus) in English.
