Eneza Education Scoops GIST Awards in Malaysia

Global Innovation Science through Science and Technology(GIST) is an initiative that links individuals,tech entrepreneurs, angel investors and market places. Its aim is to improve quality of life by encouraging prosperity through economic empowerment. GIST summit 2013 was held on October,12, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

The summit awards top ventures in the startup and Idea stage categories. The awards filters entrants of the competition in two stages which includes expert review and public participation through online voting. Prior to the summit, GIST alumni undergo a mentorship, training and pitching program. The initiative is implemented by CRDF global and other partners.

In the just concluded awards, Eneza Education emerged Runners up in the competition out of 15 entrants who made it to the finals in the startup category. This came along with a $10,000 reward for the outstanding performance. We were represented in the ceremony by Chris Asego, a determined gentleman, who has kept Eneza on its toes since the idea was born. Apart from his passion for education, Chris is one of the best rugby players in Kenya. He plays for the National team and it is a real dedication that he is able to balance matters education as well as his sports life.

Since inception, Eneza Education has won several awards which include the Pivot East 2012 competition where we emerged First and the Milken PennGSE 2012 , an Education Entrepreneurship Competition at first place also.

We continue to spread education to the most unprivileged and our mission is to make 50 million students across rural Africa smarter.
