With the start of the new term, we’ve decided it’s about time to take MPrep on the road. Our Operations Director, Chris, will be speaking at TedxKisumu this weekend, so we’ve decided to start our journey in a lovely Province I like to call home – Nyanza.
Our goal is to increase our user base in the areas that need study tools and educational materials the most – the rural areas. Chris has made it his personal goal to attract 10,000 users to our system by the end of Term 2 (August). We’ve already counted nearly 1,500 users to date, and with the amazing amount of schools from Siaya to Muhuru Bay that have expressed interest in using MPrep and the amazing supporting teachers and head teachers, we hope to meet this goal pretty quickly.
We plan to hit Kisumu, Bungoma, Rongo, Migori, Muhuru Bay, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Nakuru, and of course, Nairobi all in the course of this term. I hope to brush up on my Luo (ber ahinya!) and learn more than just greetings in each of the mother tongues we encounter. Wish us luck!
Also, if you haven’t heard the good news, we’re also finalists in the Pivot East competition on 5-6 June in Nairobi. More on this later, but check out the link in the meantime…
