Eneza Education is one of the eight Solver teams in the Teachers & Educators Category of 2018 Solve MIT Challenge. Solve, an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced the 33 new Solver teams – selected at Solve Challenge Finals, live pitch event that kicked off UN General Assembly week in New York City on Monday, September 23.

Solve received more than 1,150 solutions from 110 countries. There is nearly $1 million in potential funding available for the selected Solver teams with the most promising human-centered innovations. The Solver class was selected by Solve’s Challenge Leadership Group judges as the most promising set of solutions tackling large-scale global Challenges.

The jury consisted of a diverse team that included Andy Cunningham, Global Education Advisor with the Aga Khan Foundation; Rocío Fontana, Director of Innovation and Educational Technology in the Ministry of Education of the Province of Buenos Aires; Carminia Muñoz, Managing Director, Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Teach For America; Ndidi Okezie, Executive Director, Teach First; Mr. Vikas Pota,Chairman of the Board, Varkey Foundation and H.E. Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Education of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

“We are incredibly inspired by each new Solver selected at Solve Challenge Finals as they advance solutions to four of the World’s Biggest Challenges,” Solve’s Executive Director, Alex Amouyel said.

UNESCO estimates the demand for teachers in developing countries will double by 2030, requiring an additional 69 million new educators globally. That’s why Solve tasked the Teachers & Educators category with a question, ‘How can teachers and educators provide accessible, personalized, and creative learning experiences for all?’ More than 400 innovators from nearly 80 countries around the globe submitted solutions to MIT Solve’s Teachers & Educators Challenge

The 2018 Teachers & Educators Solver class received prize money of US $150,000 for the Teachers & Educators Prize, made possible by an anonymous donor. We were among the seven recipients of the prize.

We are excited to be part of the Solver class for 2018”, he said.
